Horses need a balanced mineral, vitamin and trace element supplement for optimum performance. The correct vitamin and mineral supplement in the correct proportion is vital to your horse’s health. Too much of one particular mineral can detrimental to the health of your horse.

The Shamrock Horse Tub is the only tub sold worldwide that contains organic Calcium derived from Lithothamnium Calcareous. Apart from balancing the diet of the horse, it also improves the bone structure naturally. This leads to less injuries and breakages in the horse’s bones. The correct balance of Phosphorous and calcium is important in the diet of the horse. It should be 1:1. Grain diets are very high in phosphorous so need to be balanced with high quality calcium.

Shamrock carries all the trace elements and amino acids derived from seaweed which make them more bio-available to the body. Selenium in combination with Vitamin E is critical to the horse’s immune system. Copper has been shown to be very beneficial in the prevention of developmental orthopaedic diseases (DOD) in young horses. Biotin and Zinc are the two most important trace elements to improve hoof strength and coat appearance. Iodine is essential for the production of thyroid hormones. Manganese is very important for healthy cartilage. Cobalt and Vitamin B12 are important for blood cell formation. Vitamin B1 is important for the release of energy from carbohydrates. Vitamin A is essential for healthy eyesight. Vitamin A is essential for healthy eyesight. Vitamin D3 is necessary for the uptake of Calcium and Phosphorous from the diet. Vitamin B6 has been proven to help in the reduction of inflammation. Folic Acid is linked to cell division and very important for pregnant animals. Nicotinic Acid is an important trace element in the digestion of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.

NB : Without minerals horses can not metabolise fats, proteins or carbohydrates, their muscles or nerves will not function normally and their bones can not support their own weight.
